Community Coach Stream

The Baseball Canada Community Sport Coach program is designed to provide valuable and accessible resources and training to coaches who are introducing and continuing to work with children in community level baseball programs.

The program is comprised of three parts:

  • Rally Cap Coach Clinic  is an initiative to enhance players’ and coaches’ first experience with the game. The program helps coaches teach players the five FUNdamentals of baseball (hitting, throwing, running, catching, ABCs) in a fun and safe environment. Players can perform different tasks to earn each of the 6 levels of achievement.

  • 11U and Ongoing Participation is typically for either coaches working with youth participating in a recreational environment or Active for Life participants participating for recreation, fitness, and socialization reasons. The participants are in the Active Start, Fundamentals, Learning to Train, and Active for Life stages of Long-Term Development. The role of the coach is to encourage participants to continue their involvement in the sport.

  • Fundamentals and Ongoing Participation - The Initiation Clinic is a 4-hour in-class clinic that you attend after completing the eLearning clinics. The clinic covers practice sessions, the fundamentals of the game and ethical decision making. The participants are in the Active Start, Fundamentals, Learning to Train, and Active for Life stages of Long-Term Development. The role of the coach is to encourage participants to continue their involvement in baseball.

Each part of the program provides credits towards your status as a Baseball Canada Community Sport level coach.
